Patricia Martinez Burr, PhD, LPCC, NCC
Founder and Clinical Director
Dr. Patricia Martinez Burr is the founder, Clinical Director, and CCSS Supervisor at Lotus Flower Counseling, LLC. A Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) and National Certified Counselor (NCC), Dr. Burr brings over 30 years of experience as a therapist, educator, and researcher specializing in trauma, attachment, and relational healing.
Known for her deeply client-centered and culturally sensitive approach, Dr. Burr believes the therapeutic relationship itself is a powerful agent of change. She works with individuals navigating complex trauma, PTSD, and relational trauma—whether in connection with self, intimate partners, family members, or parent-child dynamics. Her therapeutic lens is grounded in compassion, attunement, and the understanding that healing happens in relationship.
Dr. Burr is trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), CPT (Cognitive Processing Therapy), CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), NARM, Polyvagal Theory, and other trauma-informed modalities. She incorporates psychoeducation to help clients make meaningful connections between their past experiences and present patterns—empowering them to rewrite old narratives and build a more regulated, connected future.
She holds a PhD in Family Studies, an MA in Counseling, and a BS in Psychology, and previously served as an Assistant Professor of Counseling at the graduate level. She is also a certified Clinical Trauma Professional (IATP), trained in Infant Mental Health, and Circle of Security Parenting – Intensive.
Before founding Lotus Flower Counseling, Dr. Burr maintained a private practice for nearly three decades. Today, she continues to provide direct care and trauma-informed supervision to her team, guiding the practice with integrity, warmth, and a deep understanding of the human need for connection and safety.

Cecilia Flores, MA, LMHC, NCC
Director of Operations and Licensed Therapist
Cecilia is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and National Certified Counselor (NCC) who holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Counseling from New Mexico Highlands University and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of New Mexico. She is known for her warm, grounded presence and deeply client-centered and culturally responsive approach.
Cecilia specializes in supporting clients with complex and relational trauma, PTSD, anxiety, and ADHD, especially those navigating the often-overlooked intersection of ADHD and trauma. She is particularly passionate about guiding clients through the process of unmasking—releasing the roles and survival strategies they've carried and reconnecting with their true Self beneath it all. Cecilia sees the therapeutic relationship as a foundation for real change and brings a grounded, compassionate presence that allows clients to explore their inner world with honesty, without pressure, judgment, or the need to hold it all together.
Her approach integrates evidence-based and somatic modalities, including EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Parts Work, Polyvagal Theory, mindfulness, and psychoeducation. Cecilia helps clients understand how their nervous system and lived experiences shape their current behaviors, beliefs, and emotional responses—supporting them in building emotional regulation, setting boundaries, and reclaiming a sense of agency and self-trust.
Cecilia is committed to practicing with cultural humility and also offers affirming support for LGBTQ+ clients. Her work is rooted in the belief that healing happens through reconnection—with the body, with the past, and most importantly, with the parts of ourselves we were never meant to abandon.
Cecilia provides therapy services to adults only.
Cecilia also provides Comprehensive Community Support Services to Medicaid recipients. These services might include coaching and support in employment, education, individual daily activities, leisure, and recreation.

Veronica is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) who holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Counseling from the University of New Mexico.
Veronica is a bilingual and bicultural clinical mental health counselor who brings deep personal and professional understanding to her work with clients from diverse backgrounds. Her clinical work is grounded in EMDR and other evidence-based approaches, and she brings both warmth and directness to the therapeutic relationship. Veronica is also an LGBTQ+ advocate who understands the unique challenges that LGBTQ+ individuals face and is committed to providing a safe, affirming space for healing.

Licensed Mental Health Counselor
Crystal received her master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from New Mexico Highlands University. She specializes in experiential and relationship-oriented therapies, creating a compassionate, holistic healing environment that is shaped around each client's unique journey.
Crystal works with clients navigating complex trauma, PTSD, relational trauma, grief, depression, and anxiety. She understands that these experiences often live in the body as much as the mind, and her approach reflects that. Clients drawn to Crystal are often looking for something deeper than surface-level coping strategies.
